Position Summary

It is the primary responsibility of the President/CEO to provide strategic leadership by working with the board and other management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies to advance the company’s mission, vision and objectives. In so doing the individual is ultimately responsible for all project performance, employee morale, financial performance, and maintaining the quality and integrity of the company.

Essential job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to

The following items are expected to be completed on a regular basis to fulfill the requirements of the above mentioned position:

 

1. Provide leadership to ensure goals are attained and corporate principals are maintained.

2. Develop, monitor and execute a strategic plan with the management team to advance the company’s mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth as an organization.

3. Plan, develop, and implement strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for the company.

4. Serve as a representative of the company in an ethical manner, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions.

5. Serve as the primary representative of the company to develop and maintain customer and industry relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure a stable, growing base of profitable business.

6. Participate in and provide leadership for business development and marketing activities, including but not limited to, client entertainment functions, business conferences, and community service functions.

7. Promote an open company communication environment, encouraging openness to listen and willingness to implement recommendations consistent with corporate goals and restraints. Fosters effective team building environment.

8. Provide continuing analysis of business operations, financial performance, sales, staffing, service capabilities and technical capabilities.

9. Provide leadership to research and development of new technology in company’s capability set.

10. Manage and evaluate the performance of the management team, including ensuring the team’s compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives.

11. Manage company’s exposure to internal and external vulnerabilities to include damage, injury, liability, loss or other negative occurrences.

12. Work closely with the different departments to establish policy, and approve new policy and/or changes to existing policy.

13. Contribute to a positive work environment and ensure a successful solution process.

14. Establish organizational structure and allocation of resources.

15. Interact within the BBNC organization on different areas- Village Leadership, finance, shareholder hire, strategic planning, etc.

16. Meet with the board of directors quarterly to review the operations and performance of the company.

17. Work closely with Kakivik’s Radiation Safety Officer for all issues related to Kakivik’s by-product materials license.

18. Be a safety leader! Ensure the resources and commitment to HSE is of top priority for all employees within the company.

19. Perform all above requirements in a safe, thorough, and responsible manner

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Ability to provide strategic leadership, lead by example, inspire teamwork and creativity.

2. Demonstrated leadership ability, excellent people skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.

3. Demonstrated use of business and management principles involved in strategic plan development, execution and performance measurement; resource allocation, personnel management, leadership, and program management of engineering development and service delivery in multiple service lines.

4. Ability to assess contract opportunities and evaluate business, financial, administrative, workforce and operational ramifications of acquiring the business.

5. Ability to provide executive level oversight of proposal preparation and contracts administration, including their technical, financial and legal elements.

6. Ability to recruit, retain and develop personnel, particularly managers, with the right attitude and skills in an innovative work environment that is hard-business and customer driven.

7. Must possess advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

8. Ability to build and maintain client and other business relationships.

9. Thorough knowledge of proper accounting practices, understanding of P&L reports, as well as cash flow processes.

10. Must have experience managing technical and/or engineering employees.

11. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in front of groups.

12. Must possess the ability to work independently.

13. Proficient with computer usage especially in Microsoft office software applications.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 10 years progressively responsible Management experience

2. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Management or a combination of equivalent education and experience

3. Alaska oil industry experience and basic knowledge of quality programs, non-destructive testing and inspection is preferred

4. Ability to pass background check as required by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
